Kevin Fittinghoff

Kevin joins us from his most recent position as principal of the Ridge Street School in Rye Brook, New York. Kevin started his teaching career just south of 110th Street at Columbia Grammar and Prep School. During his ten years at CGPS he taught grades three, four and five as well as serving as after-school director. He went on to teach in District 2 at PS 41, The Greenwich Village School, and the Fox Meadow School in Scarsdale, New York. His administrative career started in Copaigue, New York as assistant principal and then assuming the principalship of the Ridge Street School. Kevin has a deeply held belief that in order for children to truly succeed in school, they need to be fully connected and fully engaged. To this end, Kevin received a grant from Citibank for the mentoring program he developed to work with students who were at risk of becoming disenfranchised from the learning process. He has also developed and expanded programs allowing children to meet with success outside of the classroom environment. Kevin joins The School with the desire to develop curriculum that is differentiated to meet the needs of all learners.
