As a founding faculty member of The School, Kathryn Kaiser brought her experiences as a curriculum developer, teacher supervisor, and teacher to The School. Kathryn has been the New York City Coordinator of a literary intervention program in the public schools of District 6, where she trained over a hundred 1st and 2nd grade teachers, reading specialists, and paraprofessionals in remediation for low-performing students. In addition to teaching preschool, she has taught Science, Social Studies, and special education to elementary students. Kathryn co-founded Riverbed Media, Inc., a digital art studio company through which she directed a number of educational outreach programs both in New York and abroad, such as the Frankfurt Ballet. Projects she participated in received a Guggenheim Fellowship, grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts, the Rockefeller Foundation and the Computer/World Smithsonian Award. Kathryn's many accomplishments in the realm of educational technology include being awarded a grant from America's Clean Water Foundation and the Environmental Protection Agency to co-create science software and curriculum.
